We are looking for an outstanding leader and teacher to take on the role of Head of English across the School (3-13). The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of all aspects of this thriving department. There is a fantastic team in place and the English Department is flourishing. English is taught by subject specialists in Years 5 to 8 and by the Class Teacher in Years 4 and below. The successful candidates will be expected to teach across Years 5 to 8 but to oversee English education throughout the school. The post holder will also be expected to play a full part in the life of this busy day and boarding school.

The role is likely to suit a talented, motivated, hard-working teacher who loves prep school life and who is looking for a hugely enjoyable and fulfilling role. All applicants, however, will be considered on the character of the individual applying and their fit to our school, rather than purely on the experience they have.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and attributes:

• Vision, leadership and ability to manage development and change
• Outstanding teaching skills, ideally including experience at Key Stage 2
• Excellent administrative and organisational abilities
• Outstanding communication skills
• Playing a full part in the life of The Prep, including games.
