Prep School: Gap Students
Cheltenham College Preparatory School seeks to appoint a number of Gap Students for a full academic year (Sept 22 – Aug 23). The role would be ideal for sixth-form/college leavers who are considering future careers in education and are keen to gain all-round experience of day-to-day school and boarding life. The ideal candidates are expected to be energetic, with high levels of integrity, responsibility and organisation skills as well as the ability to work supportively and encouragingly with the pupils in our care. Applicants should be prepared to work hard; you will be living in the boarding provision alongside the staff and pupils and will get so much more out of the role if you throw yourself into it whole heartedly.
The majority of a Gap students time will be taken up with providing support and supervision whether it be assisting in Games, PE, Art, D&T and Pre-Prep lessons or helping with the care of the boarders (particularly during mornings, evenings and weekends).
Applicants must have a mature attitude as it is vital that Gap Students are aware of the School Child Protection and Behaviour policies and know what is expected of children and staff and, if called for, appropriately reporting incidents of concern.

The salary is based on minimum wage for age. For a gap student, we anticipate the annual salary being £13,012.45 per annum.
As it is a requirement of the role that you reside in school accommodation, an accommodation charge, which includes the cost of your room and all meals during term time, will apply and is currently set at £3,045 per annum.
