Health Centre Administrator (Term Time)
Cheltenham College is seeking to appoint a part-time Health Centre Administrator. The Health Centre is located at the centre of the College campus, putting it at the heart of both The Prep and College. The service was established to provide high quality, evidence-based healthcare with the aim of promoting lifelong physical and emotional well-being.
The purpose of the role is to greet, assist and direct patients, pupils (aged 3-18) and staff in a courteous, efficient and sympathetic way, either in person or via telephone. The post-holder will also undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, supporting the team of Health Centre Staff, GPs, Nurses, Support Staff & Physiotherapists. The position is job-shared with another receptionist, and you would be working opposite each other with shared responsibilities.
This role would be best suited to somebody who enjoys the spontaneity and reward of working in a fast-paced environment and who is not fazed by the unexpected or having to set aside their to-do list in order to focus on any medical issues that may arise. Whilst there are many set tasks, there is no typical day, so being able to effectively multitask is crucial. One moment you might be dealing with a pupil-patient who has come in with an injury, whilst the telephone is ringing with patients wishing to book appointments, whilst ensuring patient records are accurately updated.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants should be able to: work under pressure, maintain high levels of confidentiality, stay motivated and demonstrate emotional intelligence when dealing with patients and pupil parents.
The position is Term-Time, plus an additional two weeks (35 weeks per year). The hours are 30 per week on a rota-basis and include alternating Saturdays during term time.
Further details of what the role entails can be found in the job description. And more information about the Health Centre can be found here.
Salary note: The salary for this role will be pro-rated to reflect the part-time hours, but is currently based on a full time equivalent of £25,915.00 per annum. Pro rata salary will be £15,638.81 per annum.
Benefits include: Executive Pensions Scheme, free membership to College’s gyms and swimming pool, inclusive lunches are also available during term time with a huge variety of freshly cooked hot and cold options to suit all dietary needs.
