College is well supplied with facilities, enabling us to host significant block fixtures in Rugby, Hockey and Cricket. We have 12 rugby pitches as well as two award-winning squares and pavilion for cricket, with the Gloucester County Cricket Club using College fields for their celebrated summer festival.
In conjunction with our playing fields we have 2 sand based Astros, 6 squash courts, a 25m swimming pool, athletics field events pits and throwing circles, rackets courts, an on site shooting range, a mixture of grass and artificial cricket nets, 4 hard tennis courts and tennis pavilion, a fully supported boathouse for the rowing club, a climbing wall and last but certainly not least a large sports centre.
Indeed, our sports centre has a hall that can accommodate 8 badminton courts or, looked at another way, two full sized Netball courts. It also contains a well equipped CV gym, which is well used alongside the free weights gym situated at the pavilion.
The existing facilities are part of our College wide development programme and plans have been drawn up to extend our sports hall provision to include a studio, larger gymnasium, meeting area, viewing gallery, offices and changing rooms. It really is an exciting time for sport at College.
However, even more impressive than the facilities is the quality of coaching provided. On top of a common room brimming with both experience and talent, College has a number of full time professional coaches, all of whom have played sport to a high level and some have played professionally and or gained international honours.
